Inkpad walked through the rocks, and stopped by the den entrance. She walked with her head low, and her tail between her legs. She sat down, but still kept her head low, She lifted her head only slightly to look up at Platinum. "Hello.", she mewed.
Platinum. Lord of the tribe was sitting at the entrance of the den, recapping on the series of events that just took place- Sunlight was now rendered blind in one eye and partially paralyzed in the face. He'd accepted Mafdet into the tribe as the new shaman. And he had revived Skull Keeta, whom requested to join the upper ranks. There was some light of this situation- Hitrost' and Sunlight are now mates, and with summer ending they'd be expecting kits. A satisfied purr erupted from his throat. He should take on a mate too.... His thoughts were cut short as a freak of nature approached him. She was large, and oddly colored. Standing, claws unsheathing, he knew who this was- The brute who mauled his companion. Spinal fur bristled and he hissed, "How dare you tread on Solaris territory again!" he roared, "Speak now, before I maul you myself," He knew it was her, she had the scar on her nose to prove it.
Inkpad crouched lower as he roared. She lifted her head to look at him. "I'm sorry, I was in a bad mood, and well, she had food." She looked around. "But, she was healed by your shaman, right?" She knew this was probably not the smartest thing to say, but she decided to risk it.
Platinum, ripped a gurgle of a snarl, "Bad mood? Bad mood?!" He was pacing now, before the entrance of his home where his comrades rested, "You brutally attacked one of my den-mates, you were going to kill her! And for what? A scrap of flesh that would have been no suitable meal towards you?!" The saber was furious now, How dare she! How dare this lumbering idiot come strolling up to his den expecting forgiveness over the situation. A crazed-raged look crossed his glare, "She's blind now, and numb in the face because of you. She almost died because of you." His tone grew lower, "Perhaps I shall do the same to you! Lets see if you're so quick to forgive me!" If he had a large tail, it would be whipping about behind him, Whiskers flexed and he hissed again, ears now plastered to his skull. For once, the young king looked... Intimidating?
Inkpad curled the tip of her tail involuntarily. She hoped he didn't see it, she was trying to look as unintimidating as possible. She tucked her head in, expecting a blow. She flexed her claws into the dirt and tensed. Somehow she thought if she tightened all her muscles, and he did deliver a blow, it would hurt less. She stayed tensed, her head tucked in, waiting.
Platinum watched her. She was being submissive! A feral rage overcame him, brutal animalistic instincts overpowered his muscles as he roared, "Coward! Don't drop your head before me!," a bitter snarl cackled in his throat as he reared up at her, metallic eyes planted on their target- her face. Hooked claws unsheathed as his trunks of forelegs came down, paws splayed, anticipating their target. If she dodged, he'd catch himself and twist about to launch a second attack, still aimed at her head and neck. Adrenaline pumping, pupils diluted, Platinum looked like the more well-known side of sabers..
Inkpad dodged, but not completely. She got a nasty gash on her side. She whipped his face with her tail. Immediately after she would roar and pounce herself, scratching wherever she could reach. She snarled and snapped her jaws at him. She used her tail to whip his legs, maybe somehow she could weaken them.
Platinum cursed inwardly as his aim only did minor damage. Turning, he saw the beast launching her own attack at him. Snarls and roars were a constant, however spitting a hiss, he brought up a paw to hurl the head of the monster away. With the force of a solid brick, if the attack landed- not only would flesh be torn, but the monster would be a tad dazed for a second or two. His blood thundered in his ears as the thrill of battle was about him. Being his first fight with purpose, his drive to succeed was obvious- For all he knew, if he failed, his tribe was at risk.
Inkpad roared as her huge body came crashing down. The blow to the head had dazed her, but luckily, not concussed. She roared angrily and pounced again, if she succeed she would claw his face, and snap and tear at his throat. Her eyes widened as she went the equivalent of crazy. Her fighting instincts finally kicked in and she did all she could to kill him, or at least make him surrender.
Platinum sneered, "What's wrong, beast, saber got your tail?" he taunted. He had her exactly where he wanted her- Insane. She was working off of maddened emotions now- and that made her a mindless behemoth. When she launched her assault to maul him like she did to Sunlight, he reached out with his paws, roaring, and would attempt to squab at her head. She landed a few good cuts and bites in there on his forearms, but the pain was hindered by his adrenaline coursing through his veins. Blood splattered about the ground and rocks. With a spit, the saber backed up now. he was far from giving up, and a brutal hiss thundered out of his jaws. He charged now- Head lowered as if he were to deliver a headbutt- Which is what he would do. Only, it was shoulders aimed at her chest. 550 lbs hurling at the sternum of a beast would knock the wind out of her if succeeded, and once his haunch would connect, she'd be lifted off her front paws a tad, enough for him to twist his powerful neck upwards, opening his jaws and try to land the suffocation bite. The attack could fail, there was always a chance, but his size was his advantage- it gave him agility and the ability to twist fast enough. He'd receive injury from this, obviously- Shoulder would be injured, and he'd more then likely get large superficial wounds, but the pain would be ignorable for now. All that was on his mind was to grab her exposed under-throat.
Inkpad roared and watched as he backed up and charged her. She was knocked back as the headbutt was delivered, but her 800 pounds helped her, and she didn't get knocked back as much as she had thought. When he bit her windpipe, she would claw at his eyes, trying to scoop them out as she had done to Sunlight.
Platinum panted around the stank of fur, it was toxic. The reek suffocated his nostrils, but he held firm. Powerful neck muscles heaved, giving the sabers that were now embedded into her throat the ability to start to close. Bringing his paws up, claws would be used to try and plant themselves around her, as if he were hugging her neck. She clawed at him now, but she'd be unable to reach his eyes that were so close to her head, for she was so large. Using his hind legs to push, he'd try to knock her legs out from under her. If she fell, it would be done. he prayed to Sol above that this would be done.
Inkpad pushed off with her back legs against the rock. She was weak, but she managed to push off and keep her own weight. She would take a paw and rake it from his thighs, then slowly pull it forward. It wasn't a quick scratch, but it was deep. If she succeed doing it once, she would continue it. "Please, I'm sorry, have mercy.", she said in a raspy breath.
Platinum winced as she raked claws down his thigh. With a snarl, he clamped down harder- And more pressure now would collapse her trachea and ultimately kill her, but he withheld. Metallic eyes glared down at her, "Why would I? So yo can blind the rest of my tribe?" he hissed around her throat. Platinum wasn't the young, goofy king anymore. No, he was now a true saber.
Inkpad gasped for breath and dropped her paw. She closed her eyes. She almost gave up, but she thought of her pride, and pushed against the rocks to keep standing. She winced and flexed her claws into the soil. She looked up at Platinum with tears in her eyes. "Please Platinum, I promise to never go near your tribe ever again if you let me go. Please, I beg of you, spare me."
Platinum snarled and kept his grip firm. It was tempting, for he was a naturally kind beast, But he knew he couldn't let this thing run around, he couldn't trust her word. For he let her go and if she launched an attack on Solaris, then he would be responsible. Hardening his eyes he snarled, ".....No." he said, voice hollow. Platinum has changed inside. He changed ever since meeting Keeta. However, he didn't look at this as a bad thing... With a swift movement of his jaws, he would collapse her trachea and attempt to snap her neck. Even if he felt this beast should have no mercy, he still would still try to gift her a swift death. And if she managed to rip him off of her now? His sabers were so deeply embedded in her that they would shred her juggler and throat, giving her an even slower and more painful way to die.
Inkpad went all out with her last breath. She would claw his thigh, and then rake them forward, leaving gashes in his side. She would tuck in her paws, then lash out and scratch wherever she could reach. She gasped and suddenly went limp. She would try to fool him, and try to make him believe she was dead. She held her breath, and realized that her ability to hold her breath for an hour, even an hour and a half, if it was to save her life, would pay off here. She let her eyes droop and waited.
Platinum scoffed inwardly. He knew this trick- Go limp and play dead. His thighs were a bloody mess now, but he didn't care. He felt her pulse in her throat under his tongue, "Gonna have to do better then that," he said. Clamping his jaws to their full potential, the Saber lord used her limpness to his advantage- Picking up her head he'd try to twist it dramatically to the side- this action would snap her vertebrae in her neck with a sickening popping crack. If this succeeds she'd die instantly. If not? the force of his sabers would rupture vital arteries and veins- Bleeding out was imminent, along with asphyxiation.
Inkpad gasped and tried to suck in air. "Tell Hither I loved him." She didn't even try to fight. Her life flashed before her eyes, her kithood, playing with her friends, teaching them how to hunt, everything. "Platinum, I never knew you could be so cold." And with that, she died.

Platinum pushed the body over the cliff into the river. With Inkpad dead, that sent a message not only to FL, but to all of Sunglaze- Solaris was here now, and they are not a force to be taken lightly...
